Getting Creative - Clare Garden Festival Autumn Fair

Clare Garden Festival Autumn Fair on Sunday, 17th September will be show-casing our passion for Gardening, Crafts & Arts creating an experience for our visitors at every stall at Ennis Showgrounds. The fair will see stallholders offering demonstrations, encouraging visitors to take part in activities and passing on advice & information. The stalls will be located in the indoor arena and will be from a garden and craft background topped with some good food stalls at the entrance to the fair.

Here a quick overview of our stallholders at our Creative Autumn Fair:

The Autumn fair is one of two Autumn events in the Clare Garden Festival Autumn Series and both are supported by Creative Ireland. The Creative Ireland Programme is a culture based programme designed to promote individual, community and national well-being. Creative Ireland Coordinator Helen Walsh for county Clare said: “Clare County Council is committed to creating a comprehensive programme that highlights and strengthens Clare’s reputation as the spiritual home of Irish traditional music and as a county of culture for all. This rich tradition and the existing cultural festivals throughout Clare will be central to the overall initiative.” She continued by saying: “I am delighted to welcome and support the Clare Garden Festival team with their new creative events as part of our county of culture programme.”

“Gardeners are creative – every plant that we choose and every time we choose where to put them in our wonderful gardens we express our passion and enjoy our hobby. Alongside the actual plants, there are many other related crafts that many of us enjoy and practice on a regular basis from wood working to making our own herbal remedies or cosmetics.” Said festival manager Carmen Cronin, she continued by saying: “Our new Autumn Fair is all about just these joys of and related to the garden and we are asking all our stallholders to offer demonstrations and interactive experiences at their stalls. It’s also about slowing down, having a chat and visitors can expect a slower pace compared to our April event. I hope that our visitors will take away some good ideas and maybe even plan a small project of their own for autumn and winter days and evenings.”
